We are currently looking for reliable and dependable part-time caregivers who are excited to provide exceptional care to our clients. As a healthcare provider for special needs children and adults, you deliver high-quality care with individualized attention that truly makes a difference for your patient. You help to encourage the healthy intellectual, developmental and psychological growth by teaching and supervising the patient in their home or their community, help them develop and master daily living skills and independence. Flexible schedules are available, including weekends. Typical duties might include but are not limited to meal planning, grocery shopping, companionship, housekeeping, personal care and teaching.

 

Primary Role and Responsibilities

  • Design and follow a schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material
  • Provide basic care and caregiving activities
  • Use a wide range of teaching methods to enhance the patient's abilities
  • Evaluate patient's performance to make sure they are on the right learning track
  • Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures in home care setting
  • Understanding of family interactions and aging process
  • Ability to observe, report, and record the client's care and condition accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and families, staff members, and the general public

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in IDD childcare
  • Sympathetic attitude towards the care of special needs clients
  • Passion to help those in need of guidance and support
  • Ability to read/write/follow a written plan of care
  • Ability to document performed tasks
  • Ability to lift moderate weight
  • Methodical, creative, patience, flexible and love for children
  • Beginning knowledge of nutrition and foodservice
  • Certificate in First Aid and CPR
  • Reliable Transportation/Driver's License/Insurance
  • Work authorization for the United States
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Be a least eighteen (18) years of age
